Freelance Copywriter

Thread Studio is our creative and design arm focused on building customer experiences that are exciting and effective. Along with the Creative Director and Designers, you will bring to life ideas that transform the way consumers interact with brands. You will be a maestro with words, creatively delivering the client’s brand message to the intended audience in the right tone of voice. All while ensuring that the copy works hand-in-hand with visuals and is ideal for the channel. 


You’ll likely work on 

  • Creating headlines, slogans, catchphrases, straplines, body copy and call-to-action for campaigns and digital content 

  • Writing for web advertising and platforms, social media and mobile applications

You’ll be expected to 

  • Work in partnership with the creative director on creative briefs

  • Get acquainted with the clients' products and services, the target audience and their competitors' activities

  • Bring your creative ideas and concepts to the table, often in partnership with the creative director and the rest of the team

  • Write clear, persuasive, original copy through the various iterations of the project

  • Proofread copy to check spelling and grammar

  • Amend, revise or redevelop content and campaigns in response to feedback from the creative director, account team or clients

  • Oversee campaigns through the production stage to completion

  • Liaise with internal and external creatives 

  • Keep up to date with popular culture and trends

  • Monitor the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.

The requirements

  • Ability to write good, clear copy in a variety of styles, with accurate spelling and grammar

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Logic, creativity and imagination

  • Attention to detail

  • Commercial awareness with the ability to understand the target audience

  • An interest in popular culture, new trends and styles

  • Good research skills 

  • Agency experience is a plus
